History of
Wright-K
Wright-K Technology, Inc. had
its beginnings as Miles Machinery Company. Miles Machinery began in
1910 building industrial equipment in Saginaw, Michigan’s former trolley
repair station.
In 1982, Miles Machinery was purchased by Val
Kostrzewa and Dale Wright, and was renamed Wright-K Technology, Inc. Mr.
Kostrzewa passed away only months after the new company was formed, leaving
the reigns with Dale Wright. He, however, also passed away only nine months
later.
In 1989, under the leadership of current owners
Bob Floeter, John Sivey, and Connie Kostrzewa (daughter of
the late Val Kostrzewa), Wright-K opened its Alabama facility. After
outgrowing its original location, a new facility was constructed in 1997 in
Madison, Alabama, affording the facility nearly 25,000 square feet in
manufacturing and office space.
During the Alabama expansion, the Saginaw
facility also continued to grow. Although it has seen several additions and
updates which have increased the facility by over 17,000 square feet, the
trolley repair station still serves as our corporate headquarters today.
Our Saginaw Corporate Headquarters currently houses 62,000 square feet of
manufacturing space and an additional 16,000 square feet for office and
engineering use. |
